So, it’s been a while since I’ve posted here and on my website, even after starting off with so much gusto in December last year. Life has been busy. I’ve been busy.
In amongst the daily chores, visits to friends and family, managing my home and writing and editing, it’s also been a time for retrospect and self-analysis. A time to deeply ponder where I am, where I’m going and what I want my life to be about.
As a believer, I have been aware, and perhaps too much so, of all that is wrong in the world. There seems to have been one huge world event after another for too many months and at times, it’s been grinding and tiring hearing about all the violence and injustice. The innocent have suffered. Too much. The unjust have gained ground. Again.
He encourages us to be of good cheer [John 16:33]. To remember He has it all covered. To trust Him for what we do not know and what we cannot see or control. Be of good cheer – because ultimately, good always trumps evil and ultimately it always will.
So, today, I can watch and listen and remember that the One who divided the Red Sea, also divides Truth from error in me. And knowing this, indeed, brings me into a state of good cheer.
